This time while reading I learned that the people have battle training, before the games to help hone their skills so it makes for better tv watching and to rank them for Gambleing for the high class. The strategy was for them to try to learn all of their skills that they don't already know. She was not supposed to go near the archer's range till the individual training so she doesn't give away her strengths. When she gets into individual training she almost shoots the elders because they don't watch her, but she hits an apple and pins it against the wall. So she is picked the best and givven an 11 out of 12. Surprise, after this Peeta who got an 8 doesn't want to train with her.
I think she should of tried to go to arrows and do bad their so people think she is terrible and don't know that she is on purposely avoiding it.

I remember this part of the book, and I thought that the scene where he almost shoots the judges was very funny. I cant wait until the movie because I want to see how they do it. and I agree when you say that Harry Potter and Percy Jackson are better, but you forgot Lord of the Rings!!
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds really neat. The apple shot reminds me of the old apple on the top of someone's head shot. It would of been sneakier for her to pretend to be bad I agree. Was she just shooting well out of bitterness since she was not the center of attention, or due to the fact she was not being watched and so she did not care if she was doing well?
